I chose this painting by Alec Monopoly because I thought it was very interesting how he chose to combine a fictional character with real newspaper in the background. I also thought it was interesting that he created this out of spray paint to give it a very contemporary feel.
Cool Fast Fun
This piece reminded me of the piece I posted last week with the colored dots. I like Audrey Hepburn too. I'm not really sure about the originality of work, but it is nice. It's very graphic looking, and I think it may look better with more of the background showing through.

I like this piece because it shows how strong and amazing the human body is, furthermore, what it is capable of. I look at the content as art more than the actual piece itself.

Resha Chhiba a South African artist. The exhibition is a walk-in instillation in a a form of a giant vagina, situated in an old women prison in Johannesburg. In the exhibition, Resha wanted to make a statement about women power and women's oppression. The exhibition uses giant red sponge walkway and acrylic wool to imitate pubic hair. One of the reason for choosing this particular piece is because Resha was asked to produced an artwork to discussed the apartheid(Segregation policy) time in Johannesburg women's jail but, instead she made a statement of woman being oppressed in the past and in the present.The installation brought a lot of controversy among the government and leaders about this being a form of porn.

I picked this piece of work, by Miguel Florido because I found the texture and color to be so beautiful and unique. This was done using oil on canvas, and the texture that was produced by only using oil is unbelievable. It actually looks like sheets on a bed, but it is all done on canvas. I find it to be very unique and impressive.
