I chose this picture by Michael Linares because I thought it was pretty cool how he used many types of mixed media to make it up. He used a aureum plant, helium, balloons and a pedestal to create something that looks kind of like a hot air balloon to me. Its also kind of neat how he got the plant to attach to the balloons without having them pop. I also liked all the different colors of the balloons, I think if he would of stuck to only one color it would have made it boring. The open-ended work of Michael D. Linares (b. 1979 San Juan, Puerto Rico) considers formal issues along with an emphasis on relational practice. He creates art that involves the interaction of the audience.
