Olafur Eliasson's "Your Spiral View"

Known for his sculptures and installations, Olafur Eliasson harnesses the use of elemental materials such as light, water, and air temperature to enhance his viewer's experience. In "Your Spiral View," Eliasson uses light as reflected off of the steel sculpture to alter his viewer's perception of space. In almost an optical illusionary manner, Eliasson creates an interactive experience between his art and his audience that stimulates an interpersonal passage through this tunnel-like structure. Depending on the light shining through the opening and reflecting off of the steel plates bending in their 360 degree pattern, a different ambience is emitted, and therefore a different emotional response.
