Toby Zieger is an artist based out of the UK. Zieger was born in 1972 in London and has lived there ever since. He has B.F.A. (Hon) from Central St. Martin's School of Art, London, UK. Zieger has had selected public collections all over Australia, France, Norway, UK, and the US including that of Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Peeksill. This particular work is entitled Clumsy Punctum. A punctum is defined as being a small, distinct point. The way this sculpture is painted leaves me to believe that the foot sculpted stepped on something sharp and is lifting back up with an irritated heel. I am attracted to a lot of geometric paintings and sculptures, so it is no surprise that this work, and all of Zeiger's works, caught my eye.
