Marilyn by Nate Lowman
Nate Lowman is a contemporary artist from New York who focuses on color and abstract images to showcase different facets of contemporary culture. He is most notable for his series of painting depicting Marilyn Monroe. He has several peices just like this one with varying colors and abstractions. When asked why he has so many works depicting her he replied "I like the psychosis of it (...) I imagine it’s why serial killers get a weird joy out of killing the same way every time. I just do it until I’m done with it”. Clearly this man is insane.
