I chose this piece because Vik Muniz is one of my favorite artists.  I like that he uses unusual materials to make his art.  He has used everything from puzzle pieces, to spaghetti, to diamonds, to garbage.  I was drawn to this piece because it is a new take on one of the most famous paintings in the world.  I like that Muniz places the puzzle pieces on top of each other instead of interlocking and flattening them like a regular puzzle.
