We Will No Longer Be Seen and Not Heard

Barbara Kruger is an American artist who uses a combination of photography and overlaid declarative caption in her artwork. Many of her well know pieces are highly political and have undertones of feminism and power struggles in society. For example, in this piece entitled "We Will No Longer Be Seen and Not Heard" is a perfect example of her motif. In these pictures the individuals are using sign language and collectively they are portraying a message of not being heard. I think her work is interesting because of the use of word captions to give added meaning to her artwork.
